Mission
The mission of Adaptive Golf Iowa is to spread joy through the game of golf to those living with disabilities throughout Iowa.
Our Goals
Making A Difference
Our goals are simple:
-
Grow the number of participants exposing the special needs community to the therapeutic & rehabilitation benefits of golf.
-
Engage children, adults, and veterans with special needs in FREE golf instruction, providing professionally run instructional clinics and golf events.
-
Conduct Adaptive Golf training workshops to increase the number of qualified golf coaches to instruct individuals with special needs.
-
Provide leadership and collaboration with nationally recognized organizations on how to expand/grow adaptive golf programs.
-
Eliminate the constraints for special needs individuals by evaluating and making more golf courses accessible
"Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots, you get good breaks from bad shots - but you have to play the ball where it lies."
--Bobby Jones
Testimonials
"When I was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsonism, I took up golf last year to exercise and keep my mind active since I was forced to retire. This year my condition is progressing and I thought I was going to have to give up golf. The one thing that helped with depression and I was worried about that, then Nate (Lubs, PGA Professional at Golf Waterloo) introduced me to this Solo Rider, and I can keep playing. This Solo Rider cart has really saved my life."
